Tarek Ben Youssef
Tarek Ben Youssef is a career diplomat by profession with more than twenty years of experience in managing bilateral and multilateral diplomatic relations. He joined the African Union in October 2012 as a senior political officer. Previously, he served as a Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Tunisia to the USA (2008- 2011) and Counselor in charge of Congressional Affairs (2006-2008). He also served as Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Tunisia in Ottawa, Canada from 1996 till 2002. He holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the National School of Public Administration in Quebec, Canada, and an M.A. in Diplomacy from the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies in Malta. Mr. Ben Youssef has the diplomatic rank of Minister Plenipotentiary, and is currently a mid-career Master in Public Administration Candidate at Harvard Kennedy School.
