Hon Bogolo J Kenewendo
Hon Bogolo J Kenewendo is a Specially Elected Member of the Parliament of Botswana; the youngest MP of the 11th Parliament and the youngest woman MP in the history of The Parliament of Botswana. She is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence, Justice & Government Assurances and a member of the IPU WTO Steering Committee.
She is a trained trade and economic diplomacy professional. She previously worked at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Ghana as a Trade Economist and was partner at Econsult Botswana. She is a frequent commentator on economic and development issues on both local and international platforms including with various media houses. She holds an MSc in International Economics from the University of Sussex (UK) through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. She is a women and youth empowerment activist. She has been honoured with accolades in Botswana and internationally including being the first Botswana youth representative to the United Nations General Assembly, where she was nominated to present a statement of Global youth to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr Ban Ki Moon. She is also a beneficiary and alumni of the US President’s Young African Leaders Initiative for young women. In 2012 she was honored with the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) award by JCI Botswana and was honoured with a 2016 Botswana Change Makers Award in Business and leadership as well as a 2016 Formidable Woman award. Still in 2016 she was honoured through the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office International Leaders Program.
